I have been taking small steps to changing how we eat so that I can eventually prepare most of our food from the food we have stored. The first step was to make bread from freshly milled grain.
The next step I decided to take was to tackle breakfast. I fell into the trap of simplicity of Eggos. It is so easy to pop in 4 Eggos to our 4 slice toaster and voila we have instant breakfast that is quick, easy, and neat(assuming Ionly use tiny amounts of syrup).
In the same cookbook as the bread recipe there was a recipe for waffles. I happened, quite by acciden,to find a little waffle maker for $10 at Walmart. I have every thing I needed so I made waffles last weekend and again this weekend. They turned out great and they freeze well. I can still have my quick weekday morning waffle breakfasts! Hooray!!
Here is the recipe Whole Wheat Waffles
