Our Blessed Chaos

My hubby + a 1st grader + twins in kindergarten + 4 critters..... Yeah it is chaos, but we are blessed!

Today's Verse

I was working on the computer while Daddy was in the kitchen making pancakes. Carlee came in and stood quietly beside me. I soon looked at her and saw she had huge tears streaming down her cheeks and this look of utter horror on her face.

I said "Carlee what is wrong?"
She looked down at her dress and hands and said so very quietly "I made a mess"
I said "Okay, where did you make a mess? Can you show me?"
She nodded as she took my hand and had a new stream of tears flowing down her cheeks. It was so pitiful it was precious!

She took me into the kitchen and as soon as Daddy saw us he said "Eggs - I turned my back and I think she must have broke one in her hand."
I said to Carlee "Were you trying to be Daddy's helper and one of the eggs broke?"
She nodded and sobbed.
I said "It's okay Carlee, we can clean it up. Thank you for being a big girl telling me you made a mess"
Daddy looked like his heart was breaking as he watched her. But then he happily told her "You were being such a good helper and I still need some more help. Will you help me some more?"
She nodded.
I said "But first let's wash your hands and get you some clean clothes okay?"
To which she said in her most pitiful, the world has nearly come to an end, little girly voice "Okay Mama (sniff)"

It was just so darn cute!!! Of course now I am kicking myself for not taking a picture because her tears were almost as big as the egg mess on her dress!
