My Heart is Breaking

Last night I stumbled upon this blog where I learned about Jon & Ali. Nine months ago they lost their little baby girl, and then on Sunday their twin boys were born at 21 weeks, both living for a precious 19 minutes.

As I read through their blogs I could not stop my tears. I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow they are struggling with. But I have also grown to admire her as I see strength and encouragement in her words. Her faith is incredibly deep, today when I went on to their blog she was already impatiently wanting her body to heal so that God can bless them with more children. Amazing!

So as I have been thinking about this family for many hours, I have also been debating what to write for Gratituesday. What am I grateful for?

Of course I am grateful for my wonderful family - for my amazing husband and for our three beautiful children who are so healthy and have never had anything worse than a cold or a minor ear infection.

But as I really think about Ali, I am more and more grateful for our God and the incredible love He has for us. I am grateful that Ali has such deep faith and the love of God will heal her and make her stronger. I am grateful to know that all of us can have that deep faith too. We can learn from Ali, we can all strive for a deeper relationship with God.

As a mother of 3 children, including twins, this story touched me deeply. Would you join me in following her blog and praying for her and her family, they truly need to be surrounded and covered in prayer right now.

Well said, Carrie! It is amazing to see the depth of love some people express during hard times. It is a beautiful testimony, isn't it?

Carrie- thank you for passing this on. My heart is so sad for them but I am thankful to be able to pray for them. The only words that I can imagine uttering to them is that God loves them and I am praying for them.
Thank you for your post.
