Psalm 36

Scripture
Psalm 36
Verse 9 For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

Observation
When I read this verse I immediately thought of Jesus at the well with the Samaritan woman and how He offer her Living Water. I wanted to go and read this story again but I could not remember where it was other than it was in the Gospel of John. The first place I looked was at the reference along the middle of the page. I have never really followed these references and quite honestly have never given them much thought, let alone looked them up.

But today I did! The reference was to 1Peter 2:9
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God's holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Oh, by the way, the story of the Woman at the Well is in John 4.

Application
When we are saved we leave the darkness and come into the light. We are to share the goodness of God with others so that they also may be brought into the light.

Prayer
Your light shines brightly so that we may see the path on which you guide us. Thank you for this glorious light and for giving us everlasting life. I pray that you will shine brightly through me so that others will see this beautiful light and all your glory.

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog... I will plan on reading the other 2 books... and try to explain to my son things about life and god!
I love the lost mitten story! I make all of my kids keep those things in their sleeves and if they don't, WE PRACTICE putting them in there over and over! LOL! THEY hate it, but now I can USUALLY find everything they need!
