Voting

Thanks to Laura at Heavenly Homemakers for hosting this. Go over to her site to be encouraged by others.

I am a military wife and am always grateful for the service of men and women to their country - no matter what country that might be. I live in the US but I am Canadian.

On this election day I am a bit ungrateful for the voting laws! I was not able to vote in the recent Canadian election because I am no longer a resident of Canada. And I cannot vote today because I am not a US citizen. My situation is relatively easy to fix - all I need to do is become a US citizen. However, right now diapers are a higher priority in our budget than the cost of the fees for citizenship. Today I do feel that I am not able to make my voice heard, however I am grateful that I can write about it here, and I can pray!

Maybe someone who was not going to vote today will read this and realize how important the right to vote is. Do not take it for granted, get out and vote!

Thanks for sharing this. It is a priviledge to be able to vote. One that we take for granted.
